VIE、UCSFの研究成果を活用した応用研究を開始

VIE株式会社（神奈川県鎌倉市、代表取締役：今村 泰彦、以下ヴィー）は、カリフォルニア大学サンフランシスコ校（UCSF：University of California, San Francisco）のTheodore Zanto博士らの研究成果を活用し、臨床応用を目指す研究開発を開始いたします。

応用研究の概要

当社はこれまで脳波を刺激する音楽”ニューロミュージック（NeuroMusic）”を開発し、認知機能拡張や各種疾患への適用に向けた研究開発を進めてきました。Theodore Zanto博士は、認知制御における神経同調の役割と、特に高齢者層における潜在的な治療としての使用法に関する研究を行っており、音楽のリズムによる神経同調または非侵襲性のリズム神経刺激の改善といった研究テーマにも取り組んでいます。

本研究では、当社がZanto博士らが開発したプログラムを利用し、自社の研究開発成果を組み合わせることで、認知症や神経発達障害の治療に繋がる研究成果の創出を目指します。

Theodore Zanto博士について

カリフォルニア大学サンフランシスコ校准教授、Neuroscape 神経科学部門ディレクター。ウィスコンシン大学ホワイトウォーター校にて心理学と物理学の学士号を取得。フロリダ アトランティック大学で複雑系と脳科学の博士号を取得。fMRI、EEG、非侵襲性脳刺激法 （TMS および TES）を利用して、注意、知覚、記憶の結節点における神経メカニズムを研究。

VIE starts applied research utilizing the research findings from UCSF

Launch of Research and Development for the Clinical Application of “Neuro Music”

VIE, Inc. (Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Yasuhiro Imamura, hereinafter referred to as VIE) is launching a research and development project aimed at clinical application leveraging the research findings of  Theodore Zanto, PhD and his team from University of California, San Francisco. 

Overview of Applied Research 

VIE has been developing NeuroMusic, a form of music that stimulates EEG/brainwave.  Our research and development focus is on cognitive enhancement and the application of the technology to various diseases. Dr. Theodore Zanto has been researching the role of neural synchronization in cognitive control, with a particular emphasis on its potential use for the elderly. His work also dives into improving neural synchronization through musical rhythms and non-invasive rhythmical neural stimulation.

 

By utilizing the program developed by Dr. Zanto and his team, and integrating it with our research and development efforts, we aim to create innovative solutions for the treatment of dementia and neurodevelopmental disorders. 

About Dr.Theodore Zanto

Dr. Theodore Zanto is an Associate Professor of Neurology at University of California, San Francisco and Director of Neuroscience Division of Neuroscape. He studies the neural mechanisms at the intersection of attention, perception, and memory utilizing fMRI, EEG and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques (TMS and TES). Dr. Zanto earned his bachelor’s degrees in psychology and physics from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater and obtained his Ph.D in Complex Systems and Brain Sciences from Florida Atlantic University.
